Hi
everyone,
Hope
the new year is bringing in lots of wonderful surprises for all of you . I’m
really enjoying the pleasant Delhi weather, though it does get a bit on your
nerves sometimes, but on days when it’s bright and sunny, I love to take the
baby out to play and I myself use up the pre-noon time to take piccys for my
blog just like I did today J
The
lipstick that I’ll be reviewing today is from one of my favourite lipsticks
ever, the Revlon color burst range. This is my second one from this range, the
first one being # 065- Rosy Nude which is my perfect MLBB shade ever after
which I was craving to to get another of these and finally settled for mauve
since Crimson, which I was eyeing was not available at the counter then. I totally,
completely and wholeheartedly recommend these to everyone. Read on to know why.
What does Revlon say about
these lipsticks:
-Instant burst of rich, true color with a featherlight feel
-Elasticolor™ technology provides immediate color release and hugs lips with a burst of weightless color that feels like a second skin
-Available in 20 gorgeous shades, including 5 new shades!

Apply
directly to lips for beautiful, high impact color. Can be worn with or without
lipliner
My opinion about the lipstick
After I got my first Revlon Color burst lipstick did I realize
why was it such a huge hit among lipstick lovers around the globe. These
lipsticks are so smooth and buttery; they just glide on your lips
and have superb pigmentation, so that 2-3 swipes give you an completely opaque
finish. Layered on a lip liner, they stay for a good 3-4 hrs and even more
without meals but even without they stay for a decent 2-3 hrs. Not that these
lipsticks are moisturizing, but they do not dry out lips like many other
lipsticks.
The shade Mauve is a true mauve shade with pink tones. It
is IMO the perfect day wear lipstick, for work or casual lunch dates. The finish
is a little on the glossier side so I usually skip the gloss with these. The
lipstick is really soft and mine is already a little smudged from the sides as
you can see in the picture.
These don’t leave a stain when they fade so that is
probably the only major drawback that I can state. Or maybe that’s because both
the shades that I have are really light day wear shades so……Other than that,
right from the quilted pattern packaging to the texture and finish of the
lipstick, I love everything about it. I love the fact that The top of the
lipstick as well as the bottom labels act as shade indicators, so whether you
keep them straight or upside down, you can still locate the shade that you want
.
Price: INR 580 for 3.7 g
Swatches:
The Pros:
1.
Great day wear color
2.
Lightweight and smooth and buttery
3.
Great packaging, sturdy and stylish
4.
Medium pigmentation
5.
Good quantity for that price
6.
Doesn’t settle in fine lines
7.
Even without a lipliner they don’t stray out of
the lips and fades evenly
The Cons:
1.
Does not leave a tint after it is gone
2.
It’s not a long wear lipstick
And
this is how it looks on my lips :
Would I repurchase:
Definitely, the shade Crimson and Fuchsia are on my list
Overall,
I think this is one of my best buys of 2011 and I’ll buy a few more of these
soon. Of all the drugstore brands that I’ve used till date, these happen to be
the best. I usually don’t wear my lipstick for more than 3-4 hrs so I’m
completely okay with that part. Apart from that, I think this is one lipstick
which everyone should have a shade of, and since there are a lot of shades to
choose from, everyone can find at least one that they will like ;)
loved the color :)
