Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in #336-Berry Express- Review/Swatch

Hello shiny sparkling people,

                Hope you are enjoying the winter sunshine and making the most of it.

             Winter evenings area perfect time to bring out all the darker hues of colors that don’t get much love during the hot and sweaty summers. The lipstick that I’m going to review today is one such pretty shade from the Revlon Super Lustrous range. It is the shade that’s called Berry Express.

I was looking for some info about the lipstick and this is what I saw on the Revlon website:

Infused with mega-moisturizers to seal in color and softness. Find your lip color amongst a dazzling array of 72 fabulous, fashionable shades!

- Exclusive LiquiSilk™ formula with mega-moisturizers seals in color and softness
-Silky-smooth, creamy texture
- Stay true color wears evenly

Expert Tip:

       To create the perfect pout, define lips by applying your choice of ColorStay® lipliner to the natural line of your lips. To further increase the wear of your lipstick, fill in lips completely. Continue by applying your favorite Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lipstick shade over the lined lips.

My take on the Revlon Superlustrous Lipstick in Berry Express
            To begin with Berry Express is a deep berry shade which goes opaque in one coat. On my NC 42 skin, it looks a bit too dark during the day so I prefer wearing it for formal evenings. It is a frost finish lipstick which is also mentioned on the case. It is purely a winter or summery evening shade if worn as a tint.

            The packaging is strong a sturdy with a transparent cap which makes it easy to locate the shade if you have many of these. It is a regular black casing with a golden band in the middle. Simple yet nice. Nothing fancy about it!

              It is priced at INR 525 for 4.2 g (which is a lot of product)

            The texture and consistency is smooth and buttery and it just glides on your lips. Also the finish is a glossy , lustrous one, as the name suggests. It will be a great lipstick for pigmented lips IMO. To me, it feels a little heavy on the lips after application and I prefer to blot it afterwards. Also, it is advisable to apply it with a lip liner and using a lip brush as it tends to feather out. It is really very creamy because of which it tends to settle in fine lines of lips.. I usually pair it up with Revlon lip liner pencil in #14- Plum wine.  It feels a little drying after a few hours of wear so I like to use a lip balm underneath.

           The staying power is medium. On me it is around 3 ½ to 4 hrs, without meals. After that true to its claim, it wears off evenly and leaves a beautiful berry pink tint, which can be touched up only with a lip balm or gloss and look pretty by itself.

Overall, it is good value for money, which I believe most Revlon lipsticks are.

Swatch:

Would I buy again: Hell yea, but in some neutral colors!!

Now quickly summarizing the thumbs up and thumbs down factors.

*   Superb pigmentation
*  Creamy texture, slides on lips
*  Glossy finish
*  I did not sense any fragrance or taste
*  Good staying power
*  Even wear off

*  Tends to feather out without a lip liner
*  I wish Revlon made minis of these. I cannot ever finish such a huge bullet
*  Compared to the Maybelline Color sensational ones, which give similar results , these may sound a little expensive to some.

And here’s me wearing it:
(Top-with Flash; Bottom-without flash in natural light)

Hope you all enjoyed reading through and find the review useful.
