Hey everyone,
I have often been asked by many of my friends for a smokey eyes tutorial that they could wear at any time of the day and therefore I decided to do this tutorial with Brown as my guiding color. I have tried to make it really simple for those who have never done a smokey eye before by this step by step tutorial.
So lets begin:
Step1: Washed and moisturized face, filled in brows and dusted some loose powder on the eye lids.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 2: Primed the lids till the brow bone and on the underside of the waterline as well with Urban Decay primer potion in Sin which is actually a shimery Champagne color. I'll beusing the tape trick here to avoid going out of boundaries. For this, take some medical tape and stick it at the back of your hand and pull out and do this a couple of times so that the glue on the tape is weakened, otherwise when you stick it on the tender eye are, it might stick too hard to the skin and you'll hurt yourself while taking it out.
Follow the natural line of the waterline and stick the tape a little farther away from it because we will be applying eye shadow on that area too.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 3: I have applied the dark brown matte finish eyeshadow alongwith the black one from the Coastal scents Go Palette Cairo (reviewed HERE)over the entire lid area.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 4: Using the pale silvery gold colored shadow from the same palette, highlight the Brow bone area.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 5: Using the strawberry chocolate shade from the same palette, fill the crease area to create a transition from a matte dark brown to a silvery gold.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 6: I used L'Oreal Contour Khol Pencil to tight line the upper lash line and line the waterline. Applied Maybelline's Lasting Drama gel liner (and because it is drying up, I had a chance to use my Inglot Duraline :) ), Curled Lashes using my QVS eyelash curler and applied Colossal Volume Express Mascara from Maybelline.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 7: Take off the tape, blend in the harsh edges and if you wish you can extend the tail of the liner to add a little more drama .
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 8: Clean the under eye area for any fall outs and apply foundation, pressed/loose powder, a little blush, apply some nude lipstick and voila!!!!!!!you're done...
Isn't this super easy, and look how wearable this brown is even for daytime wear!!!
So here are some of the products I used for my eye makeup:
And here is the FOTD
On my face I'm wearing, L'oreal True Match liquid Foundation in N5-Sable Sand, Max Factor Translucent Powder, Inglot Freedom System Blush AMC 51, Revlon Skin lights Highlighter Pink Light, Inglot Soft Precision Lipliner 56, Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipstick in 660 Toffee Cream.
Hope you liked the look and the tutorial!!!!
XOXO

ReplyDeleteHey Thanks Bhumika, glad you like it! :)
Deleteyou look gorgeous gal! pls do more tutorials! your skin is flawless :) how is Revlon Skin lights Highlighter Pink Light?
ReplyDeleteGlad you like the look Parita, BUT my skin is not flawless, in fact I'm going through a serious acne and scarring problem, but there are certain things that I take care of like good lighting and proper makeup. I never take pictures with flash and always try to do looks at a time when I can get the max sunlight in my room.In fact I do believe that a good makeup base can hide a lot of flaws if used correctly. :)
DeleteBtw, the Revlon skin lights is a great product and I like to mix a tiny bit of it with my foundation for that dewy effect. I also use it as a highlighter sometimes in winters because I find it greasy for my combination skin in winters!!
oops! I meant greasy in summers :)
