Colorbar Soft touch lipstick- Rose Quartz (Review/swatch)

Hey beautiful people,

Recently Colorbar had a makeup event where you could take in any of your old lipstick and get a Colorbar Soft Touch Lipstick for free. Well, what more excuse does a makeup-a-holic need to add another beauty to her kitty. I went to the mentioned Colorbar store and got this lipstick from there and lets see what are my thoughts on it.

Product claims / What does Colorbar website say about this:

Give your lips a soft and smooth look with the Soft Touch Lipstick. Its rich creamy formula enhances the lips, while keeping them moisturised and nourished. With Vitamin A and E and apricot oil, the Soft Touch Lipstick has anti-aging properties that protect the lips from chapping and discolouration. With a unique fig fragrance, the Soft Touch Lipstick is available in classy shades.

PRICE: INR 325.00

My experience with the Colorbar Soft Touch Lipstick in Rose Quartz

There are a lot of shades to choose from, however at the store I didn't see all the shades listed on the website. Moreover, I felt the shade selection was very mature, and not the in-vogue kind of shades that I generally look for. There was a pretty orange called Citrine that I also loved, but ended up picking this one because I knew I would not wear an orange as bright as that very often.

The shade Rose Quartz is a pretty Rosy brown-ish shade with more rose than brown(If that makes any sense). probably , if you add a little more Pink to the Velvet Matte Over the top shade, it will be this shade. Or maybe a little more brown to the Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Hooked on Pink. The texture of course, and the finish are very different.

The lipstick comes encased in a silver tube with mirror like finish, not something that I particularly love or hate. I like the packaging of the Creme Touch ones better than this with the purple band. Its an average looking lipstick.

The texture of this lipstick is creamy, to an extent that over application may give a thick ugly looking layer.

It is extremely pigmented, just one swipe gives intense color and is completely opaque on lips. It will cover all kinds of pigmentation in that single swipe. The finish of this lipstick is a bit glossy, not matte or creamy, but GLOSSY!

I did not find the lipstick particularly moisturizing. It is creamy while you apply it, but after some hours of wear , my lips did feel the need of some additional moisture. So, the product claim of keeping lips moisturized and nourished, did not hold true in my case. Of course you can use a lip balm underneath to prevent that.

Plus, it tends to bleed. OMG! how I hate lipsticks that bleed, without a lipliner, it kinds feathers out on the edges and that definitely, does not look nice. It can be attributed to the creamy texture of the lipstick. So you have to be very careful with this aspect.

The lipstick stayed on for about 2-3 hrs on me, and faded away to a soft pink stain which looks very natural on my lips, so maybe I'll stick to wearing it with a very light hand or maybe a lip brush.

I can't really say anything about the anti-ageing properties. I really don't know how to test that :/
And the fragrance, I can barely detect it :/

I am not really impressed with this lipstick and I don't see myself buying any more from this range, for the limited choice of colors and major isues like bleeding, it is not in my favorite list!

What do you think of these lipsticks, have you tried any shades from the Soft Touch Range of Colorbar?
What has been your experience? Do share with me in the comments below :)
