Lakme Absolute Creme' Lipstick (Rs 650), available online and at Lakme Counters across the country
Sometime last Year, I got an opportunity to attend the Lakme Beauty Masterclass in association with Femina. At the end of the masterclass, I received a Lakme Gift hamper which included this Lakme Absolute Lipstick, which I had carefully kept in the pile of makeup and very conveniently forgot about it. Many months later I realized that I had a new lipstick in my vanity that I never opened, and so one fine day, I just did break open the seal and here's my review on it.
The Lakme Absolute Creme Lipsticks come in this beautiful shiny metallic looking sleek packaging. I simply adore the packaging because for a drugstore lipstick, it surely looks quite classy and chic. On the flip side, the casing catches fingerprints , but they can be wiped away easily!
Bella Rose is a beautiful Rosy-taupe shade that might look more pink or more taupe depending upon your natural lip color. On my medium pigmented lips, it is a perfect neutral Taupe and shade wise very similar to MAC's Bad Girl RiRi (reviewed HERE).
The texture of the Absolute Creme lipsticks are a delight to work with. These are creamy, and soft and glide on the lips so smoothly. Pigmentation is also amazing with the lip color delivering intense color in just one swipe, covering all your lip imperfections.
The staying time is good, varying anywhere between 3-4 hours and since these are so creamy, there is substantial transfer too. However, these do not feather or bleed along fine lip lines. At the end of wear time, these fade away without leaving any tint, so a touch up is a must.
My only issue with the Absolute Creme lipsticks is that, with time, the lipstick tends to dry at the center of lips and accumulate which makes it look bad so make sure you keep checking the lip color every once in a while. The lipstick is neither moisturizing nor drying on me.
Overall, the Lakme Absolute Creme Lipsticks are creamy lipsticks that wear well , and are pigmented enough to cover even major lip imperfections. The shade Bella Rose is a beautiful Rosy-Taupe and can be a nice lipstick to compliment bright eyes or smokey eye makeup. Bella Rose , in my opinion,is also a creamier and a little deeper darker version of MAC's Bad Girl RiRi lipstick. Bella Rose is my go-to neutral lipstick these days and I will recommend you to try one of these. Totally worth your money!
