Durga Puja Round Up !!

Hello and Shubho Bijoya Everyone,

So, Durga Puja is now over and I still can't come to terms with this reality. I don't know why but every year, yes, every single year, right after this major Bengali Festival is over, I feel a sense of emptiness, like there's nothing left to do.....and guess that explains my absence from the blog for the last week or two....

Anyway, the truth is it's over and I have to wait for another one year for it....On the brighter side, the festive season is here, the weather feels great, cool and pleasant, the markets are crowded and people are super busy with Diwali preparations. Karwachauth, also just went by yesterday and I had so much fun fasting for DH...

I have been planning to do this post like a week ago, but somehow I did not feel quite up to it. So today, I'm sharing with you all what I wore during the Durga Puja and some of my makeup breakdown as well...Please excuse me for the pictures because I'm too bad at posing for outfit posts! :P

Day 1 : MahaSaptami

I did not get a chance to go out during the day on Saptami because DH was busy working and I didn't want to go out without him. Went out during the evening and I wore this Blue and Green Karachi Dress. It has got embroidery work in the front and came with a churidaar and chiffon dupatta. The kurta had blue lace at the front bottom and I loved the blue and green contrast of the dress... I kept the accessories minimalist with only diamond studs , my regular mangalsutra and a watch and a gold bangle.

Dress Material: Peachmode.com
Sandals: Catwalk
Lipstick: L'Oreal Moist Matte Lincoln Rose

Day 2 :Maha Ashtami

For the morning prayers, I wore this printed blue silk saree with a mustard contrast border and blouse and a mustard and green pallu. Wore traditional Gold jewellery, Bengali Bangles, Shankha(white), pola(Red), Noa, bala and Ratan chood.I did full on smokey eyes with neutral pink lip and the trademark RED bindi on the forehead :)

Saree: Kuberan Silks (Bangalore)(I love the fact that Kuberan silks come with a Silk Mark tag which is like the hallmark for silks and marks the authenticity of the silk you're buying!!)
Jewellery: Gold Bali Earrings and all Bangles from M.P. Jewellers , Gold, Souk, Gurgaon
Diamond Studs: D'Damas, Gold Souk, Gurgaon
Mangalsutra: Tanishq
Watch: Titan Purple

For the Ashtami Evening outing, I went for a Green and Cream Anarkali dress. The Upper panel of the Anarkali was a deep Emerald Green with Golden embroidered flowers and the bottom cream panel had golden Polka dots. The hem was quite heavy with a  broad border in a riot of vibrant Golden, Green and Orange colors. The dupatta was green and so was the churidaar.

The jewelry was the same since by this time I had moved out of my house for the next three days and I was not carrying anymore jewelry. Just what I was already wearing!!
Makeup was again a dark Green smokey eye with soft Pink Lips, this time minus the bindi!!

Dress: peachmode.com
Jewelry: Same as above
Lipstick: MAC Sheen Supreme Impressive

Day 3: Maha Navami

For the morning puja on Navami, I decided to wear this Kerala Cotton Sari which is basically and cream colored saree with a golden border and some golden work on the pallu. I always wanted to own one of these traditional sarees and had finally picked up one on my last trip to Pondicherry in the month of June. I did not want to pair it with the Cream Blouse that came with the saree, so I got a black brocade Chinese collar sleeveless blouse stitched with this. I really liked how the combination looked, the black contrasted against the cream and added that element of fun in an otherwise simple saree.
Saree: Pothys (Pondicherry)
Brocade Blouse: From a local market
Lipstick: MAC's RiRi Woo (Rihanna's Limited Edition Holiday Collection)
Handbag : Esbeda

Day 4 : Vijay Dashami

For the last day of the Durga Puja , I wore this traditional silk cream colored Saree with a Red Border with my previously worn black brocade blouse. I was not carrying any more new sarees so I wore my mom-in-law's saree on dashami. This is strictly a no makeup look except for the bindi and some lip balm. We were going to play this sindoor-khela and so I only went out with some moisturiser on my face.

Saree: Adi Dhakeshwari (Kolkata)

Hope you liked the post!
