The FACE SHOP MAKE ME STAR waterproof gel liner, (Rs 500/1.8 g), available at Sephora
My first tryst with a Korean made makeup product was the Face it Oil Cut Pore Balm (Reviewed HERE)which I had picked from Sephora when it first opened in India. Ever since then, every time I am at Sephora, I always make sure that I check The Face Shop counter before I checkout of the store. The prices and the quality of makeup and skincare products at display over there amaze me and always tempts me. On one such occasion, I ended up picking one of these waterproof gel liner pencils and then again I picked up another on my subsequent visit and today I'm going to review both of these in this post.
A waterproof color gel eyeliner that creates intense and edgy eyes in the style of Korean pop stars! A perfect combination of gel and pencil eyeliner. Perfect waterproofing. Fascinating colors. Glamorous pearly effects. Long lasting. Rubber Spoon tip brush creates intense and edgy eyes. Maximum resistance against water, sweat, and smearing. Creamy gel texture. Easy-to-use & carry.
The FACE SHOP MAKE ME STAR waterproof gel liner pencils are sharpenable pencils with color coded caps and a smudger on one end. Although sharpenable pencils cause product wastage, I still prefer these over retractable ones especially for eyes. The pencil outer is a soft variety of plastic so sharpening process is super smooth with minimal wastage.
The Shade #01 Black Cat is basically a black liner with multi colored glimmering particles that lend an overall twinkling effect to the eye. The shimmer is very smooth and finely milled in the formula and there is no grittiness whatsoever. The color is intense and opaque in one stroke. This eyeliner is currently my favorite substitute for a flat matte black eye liner since it delivers intense rich color with the added sparkle that is not at all stark or over the top.
The shade #07 Peach Shower is a peachy-beige color full of iridescent shimmer. The shade is more of glitter and the base is slightly uneven when applied, so with this one, you need to go over a few times to get the desired intensity color. This shade is my go-to inner corner highlight color when I don't have time to get in there with an eyeshadow and a pointed tip brush. Also, this doubles up as an excellent all over lid color for that fresh twinkly no-eyeshadow look.
Both the shades take a few seconds to set post application and have a very impressive wear time that can go up to 10 hours without any fading or flaking.
Overall, I have to say these are probably one of the best colored eyeliners that I have, the quality is commendable and the pricing doesn't pierce a hole in your pocket. Do give these a try if you can get your hands on them, you wouldn't be disappointed a bit.
