I feel so guilty about not having blogged for so long now. This post has been long due and finally one day after coming back from work ,I decided to click some pictures and write a review on one of my most used and preferred shades of red lipsticks , The Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Hot Pepper.
I have been lusting for these lipcolors for ages and finally my sister sourced two of these gorgeous lipsticks from Boots for £8.99 each. (Sisters are the best!)
The lipsticks come in a shade indicating cuboidal tube with a regular doe foot applicator.
The shade #Hot Pepper is a gorgeous and bright shade of Red, and similar to its name looks a lot like the color of a Red Paprika. It's possibly the brightest and most unique shade of bright red in my kitty.
The Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks have a faint pungent scent but no discernible taste or flavor.
The texture of these lipsticks are very gel like as you can make out from the hand swatch. The lipstick is medium pigmented and to get a super intense layer of color on your lips, you need to layer the color at least twice.
The lipcolor is lightweight and comfortable on the lips and there is no bleeding or feathering of the color at any point in time.
The finish looks a bit satiny when applied but sets into a gorgeous matte finish in about 3-4 minutes, and then stays on and on for atleast 6+ hours. It is mostly transfer resistant, but if you have a meal in between, the oils would breakdown the lip color pigments and you'd surely need a touch-up.
Overall, The Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Hot Pepper is a gorgeous and bright shade of Hot Red that can work great across a broad spectrum of skin tones. Except for the strong scent, there's absolutely nothing to dislike about this awesome lipstick.
If you love matte lipcolors, this is a must-have for your vanity!
