I am back with the third post in The Roman Holiday Series. On the 3rd day of our stay, the 29th of April, 2016, we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. It was a special day and we chose to spend it in a rather simple manner. On that day, we decided to take the Roma City Sightseeing bus, the hop on- hop off kinds to get a better view of the city of Rome. Luckily, it was a bright and sunny day, rather warm and we managed to cover a large portion of the city and a few major attractions like the Pantheon and Piazza Navona etc.) We were also able to mark out some major shopping areas like the Via Del Corso and spotted the river Tiber flowing within the city which we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. We also wanted to stop by at Villa Borghese but were quite pressed for time hence skipped it. Leaving you with some shots from the day. Hope you enjoy them!
Travel tip: If you're in Rome for only a day or two, taking the Roma City tour buses is a great idea. It will help you to cover all the major attractions in the least time possible. Also, all the buses are equipped with radio and you get to hear the descriptions of places and the city in as many as 10-12 languages. We took our bus from Piazza Barberini but you have the option of boarding from about 14 different places. The buses start early , at about 8 am I think, and the last bus is there until 7:30 pm. It is a little more expensive than the metro but it gives you a lot of flexibility and comfort of getting picked from the major tourist places. Not to forget the lovely view of the city from the upper deck!
And that's me, a little Ruby Woo, some winged liner and I'm ready to go :)
