Klairs gentle black deep cleansing oil
Klairs gentle black deep cleansing oil, ₹₹1570/150 ml
As an avid makeup user, I feel removing makeup is also a very important part of my makeup routine. Of course we all know the importance of properly removing makeup and since I have super sensitive skin I definitely ensure that I remove every last bit of makeup from my face at the end of the day.
I have been using cleansing balms and oils for a very long time and today I am going to review the one I am currently using or in fact have been using for the last 6 months.
Klairs is a Korean skin care brand which is very popular among beauty enthusiasts and when it was launched on Nykaa, I was intrigued and wanted to try a few products from them and so I ended up picking this cleansing balm as well as the much loved Supple Preparation Facial Toner about which I will talk in another blog post.
Now let me just put a disclaimer in the beginning of the review that not all skin types are same and therefore the products that may work for me may not work for you and vice versa.
So, before using this cleansing oil I have used a ton of different cleansing oils from a couple of different brands so obviously my review will be in comparison to how other cleansing oils worked on me and how I think a cleansing oil should perform.
The klairs gentle black deep cleansing oil comes in a very easy to use pump bottle with the lock so obviously it is easy to carry around in your makeup pouch even when you are travelling. It is a clear oil which spreads easily on your face and the instructions on the packaging tell you to use this oil on your dry face. it also says that upon contact with water the cleansing oil will turn into a milky fluid which will wash off with lukewarm water and it will take away all traces of makeup from your face including waterproof makeup.
While I do think that the oil did spread easily on the face and it quickly dissolves light makeup like Foundation and eyeshadow and your blush, those kinds of things but when you want it to remove waterproof makeup like mascara or eyeliner or even Lash glue you have to take extra product and work extra hard on it. And despite doing so much when you wash it with water it does not completely take away all the oils from your makeup from the face so I do double cleanse with another micellar water or a cleansing milk and then a triple cleanse with a face wash. this isn't the easiest cleansing oil to use and despite the court all claims that the brand has I feel it really underperformed and did not meet my expectations.
Definitely won't recommend this cleansing oil to anyone. In my opinion, it's just a below average product which has been hyped too much and when you look at the price point is definitely not cheap so you might want to skip this one and instead go for a cheaper cleansing oil which does a better job and innisfree does have a few options there in case you want to check out!
